Hi Tina and Gale,

We are looking to hire some new peer advisors to help with summer START sessions. Would you please spread the word in the newsletter and anywhere else that may help us get some applicants? The job announcement/description is below.

Are you interested in teaching new students how to navigate the OSU system? Will you be around Corvallis this summer?
Then become an EECS peer advisor!

We're currently hiring peer advisors to help with START Sessions and potentially continue on to do peer advising during the 13-14 academic year.

Why would you want to go and do a thing like that?

*         You can get involved

*         You get work experience and resume material

*         You will get paid ($10/hour)

*         It's fun!
Qualifications

*         ECE or CS student in currently in Pro-School OR applying to Pro-School in the Fall

*         Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above

*         Good public speaking skills

*         An ability to communicate and present complex information

*         A desire to help/teach new students

*         An ability to make orientation fun for new students and to share your positive OSU experiences
Job Details

*         Assist with START sessions by helping students register for courses from 11-4 on the following START dates:  June 25th , June 28th, July 1st, July 2nd, July 9th, July 10th, July 12th, July 16th, July 19th, July 22nd, July 26th, August 27th, August 28th, September 24th and September 25th.

*         Help students work out their 2-year plans

*         Help students use MyDegrees and other OSU software programs

*         Answer general questions
