Summer Internship - Tech IV, Engineering (S13-013)
This summer internship position will perform a variety of duties to support the engineering staff at Coyote Springs Plant. Function in a capacity to learn various aspects of an electrical or mechanical engineering position at a combined cycle power plant.
This position is location at The Coyote Spring Plant in Boardman, Oregon. The plant is located 160 miles east of Portland, Oregon.
Top candidates will have:
* Basic knowledge of fundamental engineering/economic principles and concepts.
* Understand plant processes and designs
* Read and understand mechanical, electrical, and/or civil conceptual and detailed design drawings.
* Collect data and enter it into plant programs such as Maximo (a computer maintenance management system).
* Collect field data and generate conceptual drawings and diagrams
* Perform basic engineering calculations
* Must have a valid driver's license in good standing.
The successful candidate is currently working toward a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering. You must have effective computer skills, including Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook software applications. Effective problem solving skills. Effective human relations and communications skills
To be eligible for PGE's 2013 Summer Program, you must be at least 18 years old as of June 1, 2013 and have met one of the following criteria:
-A current college student who is returning to college in the fall of 2013 as a full-time student
-A recent 2012-2013 college graduate
This is a paid internship and the successful candidate will work full time from May or June 2013 thru September 2013. In order to qualify for this Summer Internship, you must provide verification of your student status by submitting your college transcript (an unofficial one is acceptable) with your online application.
