Nominations open for 2013 Boeing Engineering Student of the Year

Nominations are now open for the eighth annual Engineering Student of the Year Award sponsored by Boeing Defense, Space & Security and award partner, Flightglobal.
The award recognizes the impact, or potential impact, of a student's work on current or future aeronautical or space technology.
All full- or part-time engineering students, including international students, who are enrolled in a program that leads to a recognized academic degree - such as a Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, or Ph.D. - are eligible.
The winner will receive free air travel, accommodations and admission for two to the 50th International Paris Air Show scheduled for June 17-23 at Le Bourget.
"The Boeing Company is proud to sponsor the Engineering Student of the Year Awards, which recognizes the outstanding talent of tomorrow, both at the graduate and undergraduate level," said John Tracy, Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President of Engineering, Operations & Technology.
The award will be presented at the Flightglobal Achievement Awards on June 18 at the air show and is the world's leading competition to recognize students whose work shows greatest promise, aptitude and dedication in the field of aeronautical or space technology, Tracy said.
The submission deadline is April 19, 2013. For more information and entry details, go to www.flightglobal.com/student<http://www.flightglobal.com/student?cmpid=EMC|AWDS|FGAWA-2012-2502-GLOB-fgaa|2>.
In addition to the overall award, a special prize will be given to the best undergraduate submission, giving global recognition to those working on their first degree.
Sponsorship of this award is in keeping with other Boeing educational support activities. Boeing partners with colleges and universities to shape the future work force, develop educational opportunities for its current work force and access research in critical technologies.
