Academic Coaching: What Is It?
A coach is someone who will help you clarify your academic goals and enhance your academic skills and performance. Academic coaching is a partnership that provides space to explore in conversation how performance might be taken to a new level.

Academic Coaches

Tanner Alberts Tanner Alberts, ME, Senior
Tanner is a junior in Mechanical Engineering. He graduated from Sheldon High School in Eugene, but he made the conversion from a duck to a beaver fan upon his move to Corvallis--no big deal. He's been playing guitar for the past nine years and tries to write and record music when he has free time. Tanner is pretty excited to go on his first internship with the MECOP program this coming spring to get some real-world experience in engineering!
Andy Duvall Andy Duvall, IE, Senior
Andy is a junior currently majoring in Industrial Engineering. He is an International Baccalaureate Diploma Recipient and is also enrolled in the University Honors College. Andy enjoys travel, IM sports, snowboarding, long boarding, hiking, and staying active. He is also involved in Oregon State’s SAE Baja club.
Sabrina Ireland, NE, Senior
Currently an honors student in nuclear engineering, Sabrina graduated high school from a small town in Idaho. She has worked as an intern at two national laboratories, as well as the International Atomic Energy Agency. Sabrina loves photography, the outdoors and traveling.
Learning is one of her greatest passions.
Alex King, ME, Senior
Alex graduated from Oregon City High School and is pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Alex was a track and cross country runner throughout high school. During the winter months he can be found skiing anything with snow on it. He also loves hanging out with friends and watching just about any sporting event.
Kyle Thomas Kyle Thomas, ME, Senior
Kyle graduated from Newberg High School in 2007. While College was not his first choice after graduating from high school he started taking classes at Chemeketa. Small classes and dedicated teachers helped Kyle find his passion in engineering. He started as a dual enrollment student at OSU and eventually transferred to be a full time student and is now a junior in the Mechanical Engineering program. Kyle enjoys wakeboarding, snowboarding, and traveling in his free time.
